Nuit Blanche Kyoto 2012

Opening Ceremony: 18:00/ Kyoto International Manga Museum

Since 10 Years, the night of first weekend of October, the contemporary art spread over the city of Paris. Last year, on October 1st , the first “NUIT BLANCHE” was organized in the city of Kyoto, the ancient capital of the traditional culture and arts.

In the edition 2012, under the theme of “the exchange”, we will invite you the discovery of various arts of performances, installations and exhibitions at various venues as galleries, art centers, cultural institutes and shrines, temples through the night.

“Nuit Blanche” is an art event held in Paris in October every year. This night event proffers people opportunities to enjoy contemporary art at several spots in Paris. This event which has gained international recognition, has also been held in some other countries such as Brussels, Montreal and Singapore.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of “Nuit Blanche” in Paris, Kyoto, a sister city of Paris, is going to honour this occasion and hold the same event for the first time here on Oct.1, 2011.

In this event, artists from both Japan and France will entertain the city at night with their splendid performances and concerts in a special atmosphere. We hope you take the full pleasure of appreciating the beauty of contemporary art.
